Liverpool Biennial’s Director and Chief Executive Lewis Biggs leaving after 10 years in post.

Following the decision of current Chief Executive and Artistic Director, Lewis Biggs, to move on after more than 10 years at Liverpool Biennial, the Board of Trustees of the Liverpool Biennial is looking to appoint an experienced, confident and inspirational artistic leader to build on his legacy and enthuse and challenge artists and audiences locally, nationally and internationally.

The 6th edition of Liverpool Biennial attracted 628,000 visitors and the company’s ongoing public realm commissions generate audiences of tens of thousands each year. Liverpool Biennial is a vital element of Britain’s arts offer, driven by partnerships with key organisations and institutions in the city and across the world.

The Board is looking for a candidate with a successful track record of curating shows and working with artists at the highest level, with well established connections both nationally and internationally. In addition they are looking for someone who has the vision, energy and skills to offer new thinking and ideas about the future direction and organisation of the Biennial in the longer term.

For further details of this post, please write to the Biennial’s HR Consultant Jane Howard.

Application should be made by letter and CV submission. Final interviews for this post will be held on 18th July, 2011 in Liverpool.
