The Swedish Arts Council and Sida launch a call for applications for cooperation between cultural operators in Sweden and partners in Botswana, China, India, Indonesia, Namibia and South Africa.

The main aim of the Swedish organization is to contribute to the reduction of poverty and an equitable and sustainable global development. Therefor the cooperation within the field of culture has to be strengthened through projects which shall contribute to creating sustainable relations. Another aim is the cooperation countries to become self-supporting in the long term through shared ownership, mutual interest and division of responsibility.

Who can apply?
Organizations, institutions, government agencies and independent groups in Sweden who produce or arrange professional art and cultural activities of all the different forms of art. Also the project should be constituted by a partner in Sweden and a partner in the cooperation country. The period of this project shall not exceed 12 months and the maximum funding per project is 284 000 SEK.

Support is available for:

  • Travel costs
  • Direct costs relating to the implementation of cooperation
  • Salary costs for staff working directly with the implementation of cooperation

Support shall not be used for:

  • Investment costs
  • Costs incurred by partners prior to the decision being taken
  • Salary costs for employees in private companies.

The assessment of the applications checks e.g. the possibility for long-term cooperation without Sida funding, the financial capacity and the operational performance with the emphasis on artistic quality and cultural policy significance.
