Kulturstiftung des Bundes funds 9th and 10th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art with 2.5 Million Euro each.

KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin announced that the Board of Trustees of the Kulturstiftung des Bundes (German Federal Cultural Foundation) decided to fund the 9th and 10th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art with 2.5 Million Euro each. This allows the Berlin Biennale a reliable planning of the issues in the years 2016 and 2018.

The Kulturstiftung des Bundes funds the Berlin Biennale as “cultural institution of excellence” with national importance and international reputation since 2004 with 2.5 Million Euro per issue.

The 8th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art is curated by Juan A. Gaitán and takes place from May 29 until August 3, 2014, at KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Haus am Waldsee, and Museen Dahlem – Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (Dahlem Museums – National Museums in Berlin). On January 25 at 2 pm, an installation by Andreas Angelidakis opens as a preliminary statement of the 8th Berlin Biennale.

The Berlin Biennale is organized by KW Institute for Contemporary Art and funded by the Kulturstiftung des Bundes (German Federal Cultural Foundation).
