Since its inception in 1973, the Biennale of Sydney has provided an international platform for innovative and challenging contemporary art, showcasing the work of nearly 1700 artists from over 100 countries. Today it ranks as one of the leading international festivals of contemporary art and is widely respected for working with independent artistic directors to exhibit prescient themes and artists.

Role:

• Work closely with the Board to drive the artistic and commercial success of the Biennale.
• Drive revenue growth from current relationships and identify new sources of revenue.
• Nurture constructive working relationships internally and externally, to build credibility across a variety of stakeholders.
• Lead, manage and enhance the capability of an effective team.

Experience:

• Strong reputation and track record in running a complex arts organisation, ideally with experience reporting to a Board, knowledge of the visual arts and festival environments, and working with government.
• A creative and strategic thinker with exceptional business acumen and a collaborative approach.
• Strong communication skills with experience leading a team, and the ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
