Curated by Okwui Enwezor and organized by the Young Arab Theatre Fund (YATF), Meeting Points 6 will take place across eight historic cities in the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe over a one year period between April 2011 and March 2012.

Entitled Locus Agonistes: Practices and Logics of the Civic, the event will be launched this year in Lebanon at Beirut Art Center (BAC) from April 27 to May 7, 2011 before moving on to other locations and is conceived as a response to the region’s present political climate through its exploration of the practices and logics of civic imagination.

At Beirut Art Center, Meeting Points 6 will feature, in addition to the exhibition, a series of back-to-back performances, readings, talks, contemporary dance solos and discussions. Audiences are invited to live and experience creative production with local, regional, and international artists and thinkers throughout the opening and first three days.

Mounir Fatmi, Bouchra Khalili, Basim Magdy, Adel Abdessemed, Jumana Emil Abboud, Mona Hatoum, Tino Sehgal, Saâdane Afif, Tarek Atoui, Doa Aly, Fakhri El Ghezal, Rima Maroun, Jalal Toufic, Sandra Madi, Stan Douglas, and Sammy Baloji.
