 Night Contact

Call for Submissions for new collaborative work
Deadline: 21 July 2014 

Co-commission with Photoworks, project fund available up to £2500

Following the success of their inaugural event in London last September, the Night Contact team are bringing the 2014 edition of their one night multimedia festival to the Brighton Photo Biennial.

Screening projections across indoor and outdoor spaces on a single night, Night Contact will showcase a range of still and moving works exploring ideas of collaboration, authorship and influence in relation to the photographic image and the screen.

Night Contact are partnering with Photoworks to offer £2,500 towards one new collaborative work to be the focus of Night Contact 2014.

Evolving in Conversation

Open Call to emerging photographers
Deadline: 14 July 2014

Four co-commissions available, each with a fee of £400

An opportunity from Brighton & Hove Libraries Services and Photoworks, for four emerging photographers to create small-scale commissions responding to the theme How Individuals Make Society Change to be exhibited as part of BPB14. The artists will share their working processes with group of young people who, led by a facilitator, will create work responding to the same theme.

Photobookshow

Open Call for submissions

Brighton’s own Photobookshow are dedicated to raising the profile of artist-led photobooks. The organisation holds events and exhibitions of photobooks curated from an open call, both in the UK and internationally.

Working in association with Brighton Photo Biennial, Photobookshow invite submissions based on this year’s BPB theme of Communities, Collectives and Collaboration

The show will be exhibited during BPB14 at Jubilee Library in central Brighton

Open Call for a Creative Workshop Facilitator with expertise in photography
Deadline: 7 July 2014

Fee: £1,300

An opportunity from Brighton & Hove Libraries Services and Photoworks, for an artist/photographer to work with a group of young people to develop workshops and an exhibition for BPB14 exploring the theme How Individuals Make Society Change.

A View to the Past

Open Call for a Creative Workshop Facilitator with expertise in photography
Deadline: 10 July 2014

Fee: £2,200

An opportunity for an artist/photographer to work with an intergenerational group to develop workshops and the creation of new work for a BPB14 exhibition. The project will foster intergenerational links and address negative stereotyping.
