The Greater New York exhibition embodies the diversity of ideas and creative practice found in the New York metropolitan area.

P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center and The Museum of Modern Art presented their first curatorial collaboration with Greater New York in 2000, a joint exhibition enterprise, which has continued afterwards as a quinquennial exhibition.

Since 2000, MoMA PS1 and The Museum of Modern Art have been showcasing artists and collectives living and working in New York. The Greater New York exhibition embodies the diversity of ideas and creative practice found in the metropolitan area.

Covering a full range of practices and media, the artists in Greater New York are inspired by living in one of the most diverse and provocative centers of cultural activity in the world. The exhibition centers largely on the process of creation and the generative nature of the artist’s studio and practice.
