VIVA ExCon 2014 (Visayas Biennale) Philippines, invites you to a Curatorial & Art Management Workshop in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

Studio visits will be on August 1, 9:00am-6:00pm.
Venues of the workshop will be held at Museo Negrense De La Salle and Gallery Orange, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

The workshop series are for all budding curators and emerging art managers in the Philippines focused to nurture local practices.

Invited lecturers will have case studies focused on: Curating in Developing Cities, Cross-disciplinary Curating, Considerations in Commissioning Video Art, Productive/Critical collaborations with artists and curators. While workshops will be conducted by curators, art managers, with subjects such as Preventive Conservation for Art, Exhibition Management, Art Law, Problems in Viewing Art, and Effective Exhibition Proposals and Promotions.

Curatorial and Art Management workshop series will feature Vera Mey (CCA Singapore), Pichaya Aime Suphavanij (BACC Bangkok), Sidd Perez (Drawing Room Manila/Singapore, Plantingrice.com), Clarissa Chikiamco (National Gallery, Singapore), Ricky Francisco (Lopez Museum & Library), Lian Ladia (Plantingrice.com, ACC Curatorial Fellow 2014), Yason Banal (University of the Philippines), Rica Estrada (Cultural Center of the Philippines), Jason Vitorillo (Chair, Arts Management Program, Benilde SDA), in Bacolod City.

Studio visits with Bacolod City artists are also programmed after the workshop series for more critical discussions in the region.
