Flaka Haliti nominated to represent the Republic of Kosovo at the 56th Venice Biennale 2015.

Flaka Haliti, born 1982, Prishtina. Lives and works between Munich, Prishtina and Vienna. Her work is conceptual, based on mix media. She graduated in 2006 from Academy of Arts, Prishtina University and later on, between 2008 and 2013, continued  and finished her education at Städelschule, of Meisterschule of Fine Arts, Frankfurt am Main. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions including places and institutions such as MUSAC, Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla, León Spain; ZKM Museum of Contemporary Art, Karlsruhe; Gallery Martin Janda, Vienna; Weltkulturen Museum, Frankfurt; Kosovo National Gallery, BRUSSELS BIENNIAL 1; Prishtina; Stacion – Center for Contemporary Art Prishtina; press to exit project space, Skopje; Vienna Fair; Sculpture Museum Gliptoteka HAZU, Zagreb; Artist-run Sweden Art Fair, Stockholm; Sparwasser .HQ. Berlin; Museum of Contemporary Art Vojvodina, Napon, Novi Sad; SPAPORT BIENNIAL, Sarajevo; Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin; Portikus, Frankfurt Main.

She is a winner of the First Prize of »Agriculture and Banking«, organized by Städelschule and Rentenbank. Since 2013 she is a PhD student in Practice program at Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

Flaka Haliti asked Nicolaus Schafhausen, director of Kunsthalle Wien, to curate the exhibition.
